Basics

This privacy policy is intended to inform users of this website about the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by the website operator.

The website operator takes your data protection very seriously and treats your personal data confidentially and in accordance with legal regulations. Since new technologies and the continuous development of this website may result in changes to this privacy policy, we recommend that you review it regularly. Definitions of the terms used (e.g., „personal data“ or „processing“) can be found in Art. 4 GDPR.

Collection and processing of personal data

The website operator collects, uses, and discloses your personal data only if permitted by law or if you consent to the data collection. Personal data includes all information that can be used to identify you and that can be traced back to you – for example, your name, email address, and telephone number. You can visit this website without providing any personal information. However, to improve our online offering, we store your access data to this website (without any personal reference). This access data includes, for example, the file you requested or the name of your internet provider. Because the data is anonymized, it is not possible to draw conclusions about you as an individual.

Types of data processed:

  • Inventory data (e.g., names, addresses).
  • Contact details (e.g., email, telephone numbers).
  • Content data (e.g., text entries, photographs, videos).
  • Usage data (e.g., websites visited, interest in content, access times).
  • Meta/communication data (e.g., device information, IP addresses).

Categories of data subjects

Visitors and users of the online offer (hereinafter we refer to the data subjects collectively as “users”).

Purpose of processing

  • Provision of the online offer, its functions and contents.
  • Answering contact requests and communicating with users.
  • Security measures.
  • Reach measurement/marketing

Relevant legal bases

In accordance with Art. 13 GDPR, we inform you of the legal basis for our data processing. If the legal basis is not mentioned in the privacy policy, the following applies: The legal basis for obtaining consent is Art. 6 (1) (a) and Art. 7 GDPR, the legal basis for processing to fulfill our services and implement contractual measures as well as to answer inquiries is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, the legal basis for processing to fulfill our legal obligations is Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR, and the legal basis for processing to protect our legitimate interests is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. In the event that vital interests of the data subject or another natural person require the processing of personal data, Art. 6 (1) (d) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Contact form

Data submitted via the contact form, including your contact details, will be stored in order to process your request or to be available for follow-up questions. This data will not be passed on without your consent. The data entered into the contact form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can revoke your previously granted consent at any time. An informal email notification is sufficient for revocation. The legality of the data processing operations carried out up to the time of revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Data submitted via the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or until data storage is no longer necessary. Mandatory legal provisions—in particular, retention periods—remain unaffected.

Security measures

In accordance with Art. 32 GDPR, we take appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of protection appropriate to the risk, taking into account the state of the art, the implementation costs and the nature, scope, circumstances and purposes of the processing as well as the varying likelihood and severity of the risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons.

These measures include, in particular, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data by controlling physical access to the data, as well as the access, input, and transfer of data, ensuring its availability, and segregation. Furthermore, we have established procedures that ensure the exercise of data subjects‘ rights, the deletion of data, and response to data threats. Furthermore, we consider the protection of personal data right from the development and selection of hardware, software, and processes, in accordance with the principle of data protection by design and through data protection-friendly default settings (Article 25 GDPR).

Reach measurement & cookies

This website uses cookies for pseudonymized reach measurement, which are transferred either from our server or a third-party server to the user’s browser. Cookies are small files that are stored on your device. Your browser accesses these files. The use of cookies increases the user-friendliness and security of this website. If you do not want cookies for reach measurement to be stored on your device, you can object to the use of these files here:

Common browsers offer the option to refuse cookies. Note: There is no guarantee that you will be able to access all functions of this website without restrictions if you make the appropriate settings.

Cooperation with processors and third parties

If, as part of our processing, we disclose data to other persons and companies (contract processors or third parties), transmit it to them or otherwise grant them access to the data, this will only be done on the basis of legal permission (e.g. if transmission of the data to third parties, such as payment service providers, is necessary to fulfil the contract in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR), you have consented, a legal obligation provides for this or on the basis of our legitimate interests (e.g. when using agents, web hosts, etc.).

If we commission third parties to process data on the basis of a so-called “order processing agreement”, this is done on the basis of Art. 28 GDPR.

Access data

We, the website operator or site provider, collect data about website access based on our legitimate interest (see Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) and store this data as „server log files“ on the website server. The following data is logged in this way:

  • Visited website
  • Time of access
  • Amount of data sent in bytes
  • Source/reference from which you came to the page
  • Browser used
  • Operating system used
  • IP address used

The server log files are stored for a maximum of 7 days and then deleted. The data is stored for security reasons, for example, to investigate cases of misuse. If data must be retained for evidentiary purposes, it will be exempt from deletion until the incident is finally resolved.

Storage period of posts and comments

Posts and comments, as well as related data such as IP addresses, are stored. The content remains on our website until it has been completely deleted or has been deleted for legal reasons.

Posts and comments are stored based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can revoke your previously granted consent at any time. An informal email notification is sufficient for revocation. The legality of data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

Hosting

The hosting services we use serve to provide the following services: infrastructure and platform services, computing capacity, storage space and database services, security services and technical maintenance services, which we use for the purpose of operating this online offering.

In doing so, we or our hosting provider process inventory data, contact data, content data, contract data, usage data, meta and communication data of customers, interested parties and visitors to this online offer on the basis of our legitimate interests in the efficient and secure provision of this online offer in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 28 GDPR (conclusion of a contract for data processing).

Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is a solution that allows us to manage so-called website tags via a single interface (and thus integrate Google Analytics and other Google marketing services into our online offering). The Tag Manager itself (which implements the tags) does not process any personal user data. Regarding the processing of users‘ personal data, please refer to the following information on Google services. Terms of Use: https://www.google.com/intl/de/tagmanager/use-policy.html.

Google Universal Analytics

We use Google Analytics in the form of „Universal Analytics.“ „Universal Analytics“ refers to a Google Analytics process in which user analysis is based on a pseudonymous user ID, thus creating a pseudonymous profile of the user with information from the use of various devices (so-called „cross-device tracking“).

Google Analytics

Based on our legitimate interests in optimizing and analyzing our online offering within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, this website uses the „Google Analytics“ service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). This service (Google Analytics) uses „cookies,“ text files that are stored on your device. The information collected by the cookies is usually sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google LLC complies with European data protection law and is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active

IP anonymization is activated on this website. The IP address of users is shortened within the member states of the EU and the European Economic Area, as well as in other contracting states to the agreement. Only in exceptional cases is the IP address initially transmitted unabridged to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. This shortening eliminates the personal reference to your IP address. The IP address transmitted by the browser of the user is not combined with other data stored by Google.

As part of the data processing agreement that we, as website operators, have concluded with Google Inc., Google uses the information collected to evaluate website usage and website activity and to provide services related to internet usage.

The data collected by Google on our behalf is used to evaluate the use of our online offering by individual users, for example, to compile reports on website activity in order to improve our online offering.

You have the option to prevent cookies from being stored on your device by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser. There is no guarantee that you will be able to access all functions of this website without restrictions if your browser does not accept cookies.

Furthermore, you can use a browser plug-in to prevent the information collected by cookies (including your IP address) from being sent to and used by Google Inc. The following link will take you to the corresponding plug-in: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

Alternatively, you can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about you on this website by clicking this link (IMPORTANT: Include opt-out link). By clicking the link above, you will download an „opt-out cookie.“ Your browser must therefore generally allow cookies to be stored. If you delete your cookies regularly, you will need to click the link again each time you visit this website.

Here you can find further information on data usage by Google Inc.:

Target group building with Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to display ads placed within Google’s and its partners‘ advertising services only to users who have also shown an interest in our online offering or who exhibit certain characteristics (e.g., interests in specific topics or products determined based on the websites visited) that we transmit to Google (so-called „remarketing“ or „Google Analytics audiences“). With the help of remarketing audiences, we also want to ensure that our ads correspond to the potential interests of users.

Google AdWords and conversion measurement

Based on our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our online offering within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), we use the services of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, (“Google”).

Google is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active).

We use the online marketing process Google „AdWords“ to place ads in the Google advertising network (e.g., in search results, in videos, on websites, etc.) so that they are shown to users who are likely to be interested in the ads. This allows us to display ads for and within our online offering in a more targeted manner in order to only present users with ads that potentially match their interests. If, for example, a user is shown ads for products in which they have shown interest on other online offerings, this is referred to as „remarketing“. For these purposes, when you visit our website and other websites on which the Google advertising network is active, Google code is immediately executed and so-called (re)marketing tags (invisible graphics or code, also known as „web beacons“) are integrated into the website. With their help, an individual cookie, i.e. a small file, is stored on the user’s device (similar technologies can also be used instead of cookies). This file records which websites the user has visited, which content he is interested in and which offers the user has clicked on, as well as technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, time of visit and other information about the use of the online offer.

We also receive a unique „conversion cookie.“ The information collected through the cookie is used by Google to compile conversion statistics for us. However, we only receive the anonymous total number of users who clicked on our ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. We do not receive any information that could be used to personally identify users.

User data is processed pseudonymously within the Google advertising network. This means that Google does not store and process, for example, the name or email address of users, but rather processes the relevant data cookie-related within pseudonymous user profiles. This means that from Google’s perspective, the ads are not managed and displayed for a specifically identified person, but for the cookie owner, regardless of who that cookie owner is. This does not apply if a user has expressly permitted Google to process the data without this pseudonymization. The information collected about users is transmitted to Google and stored on Google’s servers in the USA.

For further information on data usage by Google, settings and objection options, please see Google’s privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads) and the settings for displaying advertisements by Google (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).

Use of the remarketing or “similar audiences” function of Google Inc.

The provider uses the remarketing or „Similar Audiences“ function of Google Inc. („Google“) on the website. Using this function, the provider can target website visitors with advertising by displaying personalized, interest-based advertisements for visitors to the provider’s website when they visit other websites in the Google Display Network. Google uses so-called cookies to analyze website usage, which forms the basis for creating interest-based advertisements.

For this purpose, Google saves a small file with a sequence of numbers in the browsers of website visitors. This number is used to record visits to the website as well as anonymized data about website usage. No personal data of website visitors is stored. If you subsequently visit another website in the Google Display Network, you will see advertisements that are highly likely to take into account previously visited product and information areas. You can permanently deactivate the use of cookies by Google by following the link below and downloading and installing the plug-in provided there: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin.

Alternatively, you can disable the use of cookies by third parties by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page at http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and implementing the additional opt-out information provided there. Further information on Google Remarketing and Google’s privacy policy can be found at: http://www.google.com/privacy/ads/.

Google ReCaptcha

We integrate the function for detecting bots, e.g., when entering data into online forms („ReCaptcha“) from Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/, Opt-Out: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.

Google Maps

We integrate maps from the „Google Maps“ service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The data processed may include, in particular, users‘ IP addresses and location data, which, however, will not be collected without their consent (usually obtained through their mobile device settings). The data may be processed in the USA. Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/, Opt-Out: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.

Google Web Fonts

Our website uses web fonts from Google. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

By using these web fonts, we can present you with the desired display of our website, regardless of which fonts are available to you locally. This is done by retrieving the Google Web Fonts from a Google server in the USA and the associated transfer of your data to Google. This includes your IP address and which page you visited on our site. The use of Google Web Fonts is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in the optimal display and transmission of our website.

Google is certified under the US-European Privacy Shield Framework. This framework is designed to ensure compliance with the level of data protection applicable in the EU.

Details about Google Web Fonts can be found at: https://www.google.com/fonts#AboutPlace and further information in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy/partners?hl=de

Hotjar

This website uses Hotjar, an analysis software from Hotjar Ltd. („Hotjar“) (http://www.hotjar.com, Level 2, St Julian’s Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julian’s STJ 1000, Malta, Europe).

Hotjar makes it possible to measure and evaluate user behavior (clicks, mouse movements, scroll heights, etc.) on our website. The information generated by the „tracking code“ and „cookie“ about your visit to our website is transmitted to the Hotjar servers in Ireland and stored there. The following information is collected through the tracking code: Device-dependent data

The following information may be recorded by your device and browser:

  • The IP address of your device (collected and stored in an anonymized format)

  • Screen size of your device
  • Device type and browser information
  • Geographical location (country only)
  • The preferred language to display our website
  • User interactions
  • Mouse events (movement, position and clicks)
  • Keyboard input
  • Log data

The following data is automatically created by our servers when Hotjar is used

  • Referring domain
  • Visited pages
  • Geographical location (country only)

  • Date and time when the website was accessed

Hotjar will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, compile reports on website usage, and provide other services related to website usage and internet analytics. Hotjar also uses third-party services, such as Google Analytics and Optimizely, to provide its services. These third-party providers may store information that your browser sends during your website visit, such as cookies or IP requests. For more information about how Google Analytics and Optimizely store and use data, please refer to their respective privacy policies.

If you continue to use this website, you agree to the above-mentioned processing of data by Hotjar and its third-party providers in accordance with their privacy policies.

You can prevent Hotjar from collecting data by clicking on the following link and following the instructions there: Hotjar Opt-out

Integration of third-party services and content

Within our online offering, we use content or service offerings from third parties on the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our online offering within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) in order to integrate their content and services, such as videos or fonts (hereinafter collectively referred to as “content”).

This always presupposes that the third-party providers of this content perceive the IP address of the user, since without the IP address they would not be able to send the content to their browser. The IP address is therefore necessary for the display of this content. We endeavour to only use content whose respective providers only use the IP address to deliver the content. Third-party providers may also use so-called pixel tags (invisible graphics, also known as „web beacons“) for statistical or marketing purposes. The „pixel tags“ can be used to evaluate information such as visitor traffic on the pages of this website. The pseudonymous information may also be stored in cookies on the user’s device and may contain, among other things, technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, time of visit and other information about the use of our online offering, as well as be linked to such information from other sources.

Online presence in social media

We maintain online presences within social networks and platforms to communicate with customers, interested parties, and users active there and to inform them about our services. When accessing the respective networks and platforms, the terms and conditions and data processing guidelines of their respective operators apply.

Unless otherwise stated in our privacy policy, we process users‘ data if they communicate with us within the social networks and platforms, e.g. by writing posts on our online presence or sending us messages.

Use of social media plugins from Facebook

Due to our legitimate interest in analyzing, optimizing, and operating our online offering (as defined in Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), this website uses the Facebook social plug-in, which is operated by Facebook Inc. (1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA). The integrations can be recognized by the Facebook logo or the terms „Like,“ „Like,“ and „Share“ in Facebook’s colors (blue and white). Information about all Facebook plug-ins can be found at the following link: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/

Facebook Inc. complies with European data protection law and is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active

The plugin establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook servers. The website operator has no influence whatsoever on the nature and extent of the data that the plugin transmits to the Facebook Inc. servers. Information about this can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/help/186325668085084

The plugin informs Facebook Inc. that you, as a user, have visited this website. Your IP address may be saved. If you are logged into your Facebook account while visiting this website, the information will be linked to your Facebook account.

If you use the plugin’s features—for example, by sharing or „liking“ a post—the corresponding information will also be transmitted to Facebook Inc. If you would like to prevent Facebook Inc. from linking this data to your Facebook account, please log out of Facebook before visiting this website and delete the stored cookies. You can configure further settings for data processing for advertising purposes or object to the use of your data for advertising purposes via your Facebook profile. You can access the settings here:

You can find out what data Facebook collects, uses, and processes, for what purpose, and to what extent, as well as what rights and settings options you have to protect your privacy, in Facebook’s privacy policy. You can find it here: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/

Facebook Pixel, Custom Audiences and Facebook Conversion

Within our online offering, the so-called “Facebook Pixel” of the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA, or if you are based in the EU, Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”), is used due to our legitimate interests in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our online offering and for these purposes.

Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active).

With the help of the Facebook pixel, Facebook is able to determine the visitors to our online offering as a target group for the display of advertisements (so-called „Facebook ads“). Accordingly, we use the Facebook pixel to only display the Facebook ads we place to Facebook users who have shown an interest in our online offering or who have certain characteristics (e.g. interests in certain topics or products determined based on the websites visited) that we transmit to Facebook (so-called „custom audiences“). With the help of the Facebook pixel, we also want to ensure that our Facebook ads correspond to the potential interests of users and do not appear annoying. With the help of the Facebook pixel, we can also track the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes by seeing whether users were redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook ad (so-called „conversion“).

Facebook processes data in accordance with Facebook’s data usage policy. Accordingly, general information on the display of Facebook ads can be found in Facebook’s data usage policy: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php. Specific information and details about the Facebook pixel and how it works can be found in Facebook’s help section: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/651294705016616.

You can opt out of the Facebook pixel’s collection and use of your data to display Facebook ads. To control which types of ads are displayed to you on Facebook, you can visit the page set up by Facebook and follow the instructions for settings for usage-based advertising: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads. The settings are platform-independent, meaning they apply to all devices, such as desktop computers and mobile devices.

You can also object to the use of cookies for reach measurement and advertising purposes via the Network Advertising Initiative deactivation page (http://optout.networkadvertising.org/) and additionally the US website (http://www.aboutads.info/choices) or the European website (http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/).

Twitter Plugin

Our website uses features of the Twitter service. The provider is Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA.

When you use Twitter and the „Retweet“ function, websites you visit are linked to your Twitter account and published in your Twitter feed. Data is transmitted to Twitter in the process. We have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or how Twitter uses this data. For details, see Twitter’s privacy policy: https://twitter.com/privacy.

You can change your privacy settings on Twitter: https://twitter.com/account/settings

The data provided when registering for the newsletter will be processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can revoke your previously granted consent at any time. To revoke your consent, simply send an informal email or unsubscribe using the „unsubscribe“ link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

Data entered to set up your subscription will be deleted upon cancellation. If this data has been transmitted to us for other purposes and elsewhere, it will remain with us.

SSL or TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content that you send to us as the website operator, our website uses SSL or TLS encryption. This ensures that data you transmit via this website cannot be read by third parties. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the „https://“ address bar in your browser and the lock symbol in the browser bar.

We process our customers‘ data within the scope of our contractual services, which include conceptual and strategic consulting, campaign planning, software and design development/consulting or maintenance, implementation of campaigns and processes/handling, server administration, data analysis/consulting services and training services.

We process inventory data (e.g. customer master data such as names or addresses), contact data (e.g. email, telephone numbers), content data (e.g. text entries, photographs, videos), contract data (e.g. contract subject matter, term), payment data (e.g. bank details, payment history), usage and metadata (e.g. in the context of the evaluation and measurement of the success of marketing measures). We generally do not process special categories of personal data unless these are part of a commissioned processing operation. Those affected include our customers, interested parties and their customers, users, website visitors or employees as well as third parties. The purpose of the processing is the provision of contractual services, billing and our customer service. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (contractual services) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (analysis, statistics, optimization, security measures). We process data that is necessary to establish and fulfill the contractual services and point out the necessity of providing it. Disclosure to external parties only occurs if it is necessary within the scope of an order. When processing the data provided to us within the scope of an order, we act in accordance with the client’s instructions and the legal requirements for order processing pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR and do not process the data for any purposes other than those specified in the order.

User rights

As a user, you have the right to receive, upon request, free information about which personal data has been stored about you. You also have the right to correct inaccurate data and to restrict the processing or delete your personal data. If applicable, you can also exercise your right to data portability. If you believe that your data has been processed unlawfully, you can file a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority.

Deletion of data

Unless your request conflicts with a legal obligation to retain data (e.g., data retention), you have the right to have your data deleted. Data stored by us will be deleted if it is no longer required for its intended purpose and there are no statutory retention periods. If deletion is not possible because the data is required for permissible legal purposes, data processing will be restricted. In this case, the data will be blocked and not processed for other purposes.

Right of objection

Users of this website can exercise their right to object and withdraw their consent to the processing of their personal data at any time. If you wish to correct, block, delete, or request information about the personal data stored about you, or if you have questions regarding the collection, processing, or use of your personal data, or if you wish to revoke consents you have given, please contact us at the following email address: email@fellowship-ride.com
